History

Born of the need and desire for understanding and partnership, the Forum of Bible Agencies International, was launched in 1990. Its first annual meeting was held in Horsleys Green, England. This had been stimulated by an ad hoc meeting at Lausanne II in Manila in 1989.

During the 1990s, Forum members built and strengthened relationships. Several cooperative projects were begun. Member organizations also began developing a number of common goals and standards especially in respect to Scripture translation.

The Forum was incorporated as a not-for-profit (501c3) entity in May of 2004.

Today, the Forum comprises 40 members working together to maximize worldwide access and impact of God's Word in a trusted community of like-minded peers. Links to other agency networks increases the scope, depth and reach of the Forum members.

Through formal and informal gatherings, the Forum aims to encourage and strengthen inter-agency understanding and relationships among members’ strategic leaderships.

The Forum is the world’s only community for international Bible ministry leaders designed to benefit member agencies individually and through the partnerships they create.
