Associate Member

4.2.20-IBLT serves as a source language capacity builder for the Bible translation movement, providing education and tools to accelerate access to the full Bible for people of all languages, whether written, oral or signed.

Through the Institute for Biblical Languages & Translation (IBLT), they aim to accelerate the training of source language translators and consultants for it to be possible to begin full Bible translations in every language by 2033. They are dedicated to eliminating the Old Testament Gap, enabling access and engagement with the whole Word in every language and among oral and Deaf communities.

4.2.20 is the numeric representation of the letters of the Hebrew word ‘Davar’, which means the ‘Word’. 4,220 also symbolizes the remaining task, with over 4,000 languages still requiring a translation of the Old Testament.

The MA in Classical Hebrew & Translation Consulting combines biblical language and consultant training with fieldwork, and has three optional specializations: Hebrew Teaching, Deaf Bible Translation, Oral Bible Translation.

Global Online Learning

They connect the Jerusalem-based Hebrew program to translators around the globe, “taking Jerusalem to the world.” The Hebrew Extension Learning Program (HELP) employs specialized source language learning techniques by which leaders are equipped with source language training even in remote areas of the world.
